Green Tea Latte

Every few weekends I like to get away for a few hours. I usually head to a nearby cafe and take some time to write out my thoughts, read, and just stop and sit. This time feels like a luxury. There are definitely seasons when life just seems a little too full to make it happen. That’s what it felt like a few Saturday’s ago.

I was feeling restless throughout the day though and was just really needing a little bit of space. My husband sensed what was going on, took Gianna, and sent me away to a quiet place in the house. While I was writing in my journal, I could hear some noise in the kitchen. The kettle going and later the blender whirling. Just a few minutes later, Pat emerged with the most delicious green tea latte that I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, it was amazing.

The green tea flavor was just right and not overpowering, the vanilla, honey, and agave nectar added the perfect amount of sweetness, and the milky goodness was just so smooth and creamy. Oh, and the foam? To die for. Who knew that you could make this at home? Better yet, it’s super easy to make. Especially if it means sitting back while your hubby does all the work.

My little space of quiet was only about 20 minutes that day, but I came out so refreshed. I think the latte was a big part of that!

Green Tea Latte, adapted, just barely, from the Creating Naturally blog

2 Green tea bags
1 cup water
2 cups milk (any type)
2 tablespoons honey, agave nectar, or a mixture of both
1 teaspoon vanilla

Boil water and seep green tea bags for about 5 minutes. While you’re waiting, heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, until warm but not too hot.

Pour the green tea, milk, honey/agave, and vanilla into a blender. Blend on high for about a minute. This make the latte foamy and awesome.

Pour into mugs, sip slowly, and enjoy
