What’s our little family up to these days? A whole lot…

Um, we just bought a minivan. Like, on Wednesday. Yes, in the last few years we bought a house and I’m now pregnant with our second baby, but somehow it’s this minivan purchase that makes me feel like my hubby and I are real adults. We’re totally family people now, and I feel like a soccer mom already.

Pat and I made an agreement a while ago that when the time came to get a minivan, he would buy me really nice sunglasses. You know, because I still want to look somewhat cool while driving around my kid-mobile. And you really can’t see anything else when I’m driving from the outside other than my soon-to-be awesome sunglasses. I’m ready for them!

I’m officially a major fan of this germination station that’s helping me get a jump start on our summer garden. We’re starting seeds like crazy over here.

We’ve got about 15 soyu cucumber seedlings, 3 varieties of cherry tomatoes, chives, cilantro, eggplant, pimiento de padron, borage, marigolds, parsley, and basil. Is it summer yet?

I made this last Friday and I’ll be blogging about it soon. It’s seriously so easy, is super tasty, and is in the category of nice food.

Our lacinto kale transplants are making it! I just thought this photo was so pretty.

Ok, more garden. We did a whole lot of work this weekend, including moving our lemon and naval orange trees to a location where I hope they actually produce something. They’re sad looking aren’t they? I’m proving to be inept with caring for citrus, let’s hope this changes.

We’re in Los Angeles this weekend! We have a full few days ahead of us including a wedding, time with my family, visits with friends, and perhaps Gianna’s first trip to our old college stomping grounds.

If Gianna and I do make it to good ol’ USC, I’ll be sure to take her to: the freshmen dorm where Pat and I lived and met but were never interested in each other, the gym that we used to work out together at, the sorority house where he picked me up (our senior year!) on our first date, and the fountains that we ran through on fountain run where playful flirting ensued. Apparently I’m really bad at flirting. Good thing I don’t need that skill anymore!
