A Whole Lot of Ground Beef Recipes

We are now the owners of a garage freezer. Pat and I had been thinking of getting one for a while and recently got one from a friend who was moving out of town (thanks Mindy!). We were pretty giddy at the beginning as we stuck extra bags of frozen fruit in there, bagels, and a few jars of chicken stock. But the real moment we were looking forward to was last Sunday, when we will picked up 40 lbs of beef from a local rancher at our farmer’s market. Roughly half of that was ground beef.

For those of you, like me, who might need some fresh ideas for ground beef, I looked into my Facebook archives and found a post from two years ago where I was asking around for some inspiration beyond the usual spaghetti and chili. What resulted was a goldmine that I felt I needed to catalogue for myself and share with the world.

Korean Tteokgalbi

Loco Moco

Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

Spring Rolls

Shepherd’s Pie

Homemade Crunch Wrap Supreme

Lettuce Wraps

Mapo Tofu

Spaghetti with Beef and Mushroom Sauce

Picadillo

Stuffed Peppers

Korean Mandu

The Uglies

Lebanese Kibbeh

South African Bobotie

Cabbage Rolls

Korean Jajangmyeon

Pakistani Kima

Middle Eastern Kofta

Italian Wedding Soup

And lastly, not a recipe link but notes to make it Greek! Fry beef with greek spices (marjoran, oregano, thyme, rosemary) and some onion. Get some pita bread, make tzatziki (yogurt, cucumbers, onions, garlic), cut up some tomatoes, get some lettuce/cabbage mix, and fill the pita bread with a bit of all the ingredients. Yum.
